The Nintendo Wii Revolution
Until this year, the game-console market seamed to be a battle ground where Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PS2 were the only players.
What was recently known as "code:Revolution", the Nintendo Wii is Nindendo's reply to this battle.
Nintendo's secret weapons? an under-the-belt price (250$, while XBox and PS2 had prices between 400$ and 600$) and a very futuristic level of interactivity.
To communicate this new product, Nintendo threw all it's money in a very agressive teasing campaign. This, along with some hard PR generated huge publicity. From Southpark to american talk-shows, everybody was talking about this revolutionary product.
The PR campaign was so successfull, that the advertising campaign following it didn't do anything else but to say what people already knew: You want a Nintendo Wii!
In Romania, we have a saying: when 2 fight, the 3rd wins... I think this saying is perfect for the game-console market..
